Weight Loss Update!!

Ok So I fell of the wagon for about 10 days. I wasn't being super bad but I wasn't as focused as I knew I should have been. When I put back on 2lbs that I had lost. I checked in with my Body Bugg website and saw that I should have lost 6lbs more than I had. That got my butt in gear! If I had stayed on track then I would be even further that I am! What the heck!! So I have been back to my routine of eating my healthy meals and snacks 6 times a day drinking tons of water and getting my 10,000 plus steps in a day and making sure I have met and exceeded all of my physical activity goals each day. Now I dropped those 2lbs that I  had gained back plus 3 more!! All in a weeks time!! Shows ya how when you really put your heart into in and focus you can make a lot of progress!! So I am up to 16lbs total loss!! I can finally start seeing a difference in the mirror and how my clothes are fitting!! yay! And now people around me are noticing too! Thats always a good motivating feeling :)

Ok Just wanted to post an update. Hope it inspires you where ever you are in your journey:)

Newest Foundation!!

So I have heard rave reviews on Maybelline's Fit Me Foundation and I decided to go and check it out. It is very reasonably priced and you can find it a your local drugstore/target/walmart. I have been using the concealer already and have been really happy about it!!

I found my color in the foundation and powder and have been using it for about a week now. Now I really like full coverage foundation because I like my skin to look flawless. I have redness and freckles so I like to even my skin tone out. So I have been super happy with the Fit Me line. I was able to find a color that matched my skin pretty easily. It goes on very smoothly and easily. Doesn't feel to heavy on my skin. I also  am pleased to say that it is staying put on my face all day :)

Here is a video showing how I do my Daily Foundation Routine. Hope you enjoy:)

Oh My MAC! Got Some New Foundation and Powder :)

Isn't it pretty?? ;) So I went to the MAC counter at Macy's today and sat down and had a consult with a really sweet girl. I discovered that I am a NC20. Its always nice to get someone else's opinion on what they think your skin tone is. I have a more Olive skin tone and I'm pretty light right now since summer was months ago now. boo hoo :( lol

Now how MAC works is they have foundation shades based on warms and cools. Here is a basic break down that I learned from my MAC consultant today:

C -     Is for Cool. Best for yellow, golden olive skin.
NC -  Is for Neutral Cool. So is best for skins with a slight golden glow. Common color.
N -     Is for Neutral. Beige skin. Common color.
W -    Is for warm. So best for pinkish skin.
NW - Is for Neutral warm. Pink beige skin.

So this is to distinguish between different skin tones. They also range there colors from light to dark. 15 is the most pale up to 55 the darkest.

Very cool info. It was really fun talking to the girls at the counter and its always fun to sit in their make up chairs and get a little pampered :) I strongly recommend getting a consult before you buy their make up so you are getting the right color for you.

So the two Products I got were the Pro Longwear SPF10 Foundation and the Select Sheer Pressed powder. Super excited to start using them! I will let you know what I think after I try them out a little.

Now I am on the hunt for some amazing make up brushes....I am narrowed down to the Sigma Brushes and the MAC brushes... I will be keeping you in the loop about what I decided!!

Here is a video showing you a peak inside what the foundation and powder actually look like on the inside and their packaging!! I also give you a few more details on the process my consultant took me through to discover what my correct shade was:

OK Thanks for reading!!! I hope I got you excited about the MAC make up or even just getting a consult so you can make sure that you are getting the right color foundation in what ever brand that you are currently using.

What I'm doing To Work out

So I have the boys at home with me and it definitely isn't easy to get to the gym. So I have had to get creative at home. So first off I have to tell you that this is the most weight I have ever had to lose. I have had to lose 20 or 30 pounds several times in my life. But  65 pounds!! This is pretty intimidating! So I have broken it down to 10lbs increments so I don't feel so overwhelmed. So far I have lost 11lbs. Pretty good start!

So here is what I am doing for my workouts right now. I have Jillian Michaels 30 Day shred DVD that I do about 3 nights a week. I really just figured I needed to get off my butt and start moving more!! That has made a big difference! Keeping house after 3 boys is work let me tell you! Cleaning house is an excellent workout if you really get down and dirty with it. I am constantly running around the house picking up after my 3 year old. Now that is a workout! Ever tried to keep up with a 3 year old? ha ha

Instead of vegging on my phone while I am waiting for dinner to cook I turn my kitchen into my gym. Incline push ups on the counter, air squats, I use the stove handle to steady my self and do side legs lifts, I even do high knees and butt kicks!! All this while waiting for dinner to cook. My 3 year old thinks this is pretty funny but he usually joins in and coach's coach's telling me good job and counting my reps;) Such a good supporter he he. I am constantly running around the house picking up after my 3 year old. Now that is a workout! Ever tried to keep up with a 3 year old? ha ha

I go for a walk about 2 to 3 days a week. I scored a double jogging stroller only used 3 times for $35!!! Crazy right!! So I plop both of the kiddos down in that and get outside. Pushing all that is a darn good workout!! It feels so nice to get outside and stretch and get some fresh air.

Another thing I do is I dance in my living room! I turn the good ole Pandora Radio on and just go crazy. My 3 year old gets a kick out of it and chimes in with me. Pretty fun and love the bonding :)
While I am doing all this dancing I throw in some burpies, jumps squats, sit ups, and push ups. All to get that heart pumping!

Feels great to be watching the pounds burn off. Its really all about just getting yourself moving and More active during the day. Park in the back of the parking lots when you go out so you have to walk a little ways into the store. Carry your child instead of putting them in the cart. That will get the heart racing! All this little changes add up and make all the difference in your weight loss.

OK hope this inspired you a little:) Just thought I would throw some of my little tricks out there for ya and let you know that they work.

Target Haul!!!! Oh Yea!!!

Ok so as you saw on my YouTube Channel I have already tried all of these products and pretty much really love all of them. The only little complaint I had was about the E.L.F. eyeshadow primer wand but it still did a pretty good job for a $2 primer :) Here are some pics of each product so you can really see what they are called and what they look like.

Ok first I got the True Match Foundation by L'OREAL PARIS. Really like it! It just seems to blend right in with my skin. Very light weight so I don't feel like I have anything on my face but it fully covers everything for beautiful looking skin.

I wanted to try out the Sonia Kashuk brushes. I got a cute little 5 pack for about $15. They had a few other colors but I liked this one the best. So Cute! They came in a cute little pink box too ;)

I've recently discovered that Target carries the e.l.f. product line. There is way more stuff online but they have quite a few things at Target. This was $2 I think...It does a pretty good job just didn't like that the applicator wand had a bunch of fuzzy that I had to keep picking off. But it was $2 so what can ya do lol

New concealer I'm trying! This is Maybelline New York. They have a light, medium and dark. I got the medium one. Covers and blends really well! Its pretty creamy if you like that sort of thing. But I don't feel like its too much.

Of course I got my new love Falsies Mascara with my $2 off coupon from Target.com:) I got this in the blackest color that they have. Love it.

New brow definer! Now I wear the darkest color because my brows are black. This is the Maybelline Define A Brow. Love this! P.S. Don't turn the pencil too far out! It doesn't go back in! lol Learn from my mistakes ;) I feel like this goes on so smooth and doesn't stand out.

Needed more eyelash glue!! This stuff is fairly inexpensive and dries clear.

Last I wanted to try out the e.l.f. Lip Gloss and it wasn't to bad for a couple bucks. It had quite a bit of color to it and stays on well.

Thanks so much for reading!! Hope you enjoyed my haul!!

Here is the link again to the YouTube video:

Coming soon my snack that helps me when I feel I need something bad I reach for this instead and it satisfies the craving :)

Trade Secret!! How to Back Comb!

Alright this is back combing for dummies:) Here is the trick that I promised to tell you about in my YouTube video. I love love love this tool because it takes all the guess work out of back combing. If you have a hard time back combing this is going to help you so much. Or if you just can quite get your hair to stay up once its back combed this tool just makes is quick and easy. OK so here it is......

Its a hard plastic 3 row comb. Brilliant! It seriously takes no time at all to get the job done. There is also another amazing perk to this comb....it's only $1.99!!! You can find it at Sally's Beauty Supply stores or online. Seriously worth the time and investment to go get one.

Now I know that back combing makes a lot of people think of the 80's and "ratting" their hair  all big and crazy and I know you are thinking about Jersey Shore for sure right now! But I would like to show you how appropriate it can be for all ages not just the young 20 somethings. It can be done so that you hardly know that there is back combing and it give you that extra hold or lift that you need.

Here is a pic of me before and after back combing:

So you see how its a pretty natural looking back comb just to give you a little lift so your hair isn't clinging to your head:) I even use it sometimes to help give my ponytail more volume.

OK I have a video tutorial up on my YouTube Channel to teach you how  you can Back Comb your own hair! Here is the link:

My FIRST 'Mini' Haul with you!!

Um do I need to say anymore??? Oh I guess I could also say 50-75% off!!Ha ha So as most of you know VS had their AMAZING Semi-Annual sale just recently and who doesn't LOVE a good sale?! Especially at VS! I just love this store. It so so feminine and just totally caters to a girls heart. Love it. Anyways so I Thought I would show you some of the awesome things I scored.
Oh yea!! Half OFF!! These were normally $12 dollar eye shadow duos and I scored them for $6 each. Love it. The one on the left is a shimmery brown and matte gold and the one on the right is a shimmery mauve taupe color paired with a lighter matte lavender. So pretty! I wore the one on the right today.

I didn't use a primer to even out my skin tone on my eye lid today so I think It came out a little more grey taupe than it is supposed to be but it was super pretty. Will try it with primer and see how much of a difference it makes.

Anyways on to the next item :)

Lip Gloss!! I bet you all have about a million of these like I do. They are addicting! I also have a confession to make...I put one of these on before bedtime last night and woke up this morning with my lips still tinted and slightly sticky! Now that is a good lip gloss lasting all night! ha ha So the colors are on the left Tiny Bubbles and on the right Sweet Gleam. Normally $7 each and I scored them for $3.50 each!

Last and definitely not least one of my favorite perfumes (and my mothers:) Heavenly. This is a little travel sized duo of the perfume and lotion. Normally $18 and scored it for $9 :)

Alright that is sadly the end of my haul....but there will be more :) Hope you liked! Don't forget to subscribe to my blog so you don't miss any posts! And share with your friends because you love them and want them in on the goods too ;)

Weight Loss Secret!

BODY BUGG!! It's so amazing! This is all I really wanted for Christmas this year lol. You have probably heard of it I'm sure from the t.v. show The Biggest Loser. That is where I learned about it. I seriously love it!

This is what it looks like. I wear it on my left arm with the sensor on my tricep. This tracks my calorie burn when I am wearing it. I go online everyday and log what I ate. This plugs into my computer with a usb cable and links up to the Body Bugg program to show my calories burned. It also tracks my steps, how many minutes of physical activity you have, it even shows how many calories per minute you are burning. It creates a whole meal plan for you and exercise. It just takes all the guess work out of for you.

Now I'm the type of person that thinks if you don't go the gym and run on the treadmill and sling weights until your sweating then there is no point in even working out at all. Well this Body Bugg  has raised a lot of awareness for me. Every thing you do being active counts for some calorie burn. Cleaning the house, going to the grocery store, doing 10 jumping jacks in the morning when you wake up, it all counts. So I now take advantage of anything I can do to get my heart pumping. Bouncy the baby, house chores, walking to get the mail, push up or air squats when you have a few minutes to kill, DO IT!! lol It all helps!

So since I started my weight loss journey i have lost 9lbs. 4lbs has been since I got my Body Bugg. So it's working! Can you believe it I actually lost weight over the holidays! Crazy right?! So I eat clean everyday and then 1 Day per week I give myself a free day to eat whatever I want.

Tomorrow I will be sharing my go to breakfast with you! Super yummy and healthy!!

For info on how much it costs and where you can find it watch my video on YouTube:

Alright I hope this helped and inspired!! I am now very accountable for my weight loss!! Thanks for reading!! Don't forget to subscribe :)

How to Go 3 Days Without Washing Your Hair...Day 2 Hair

Hey!! Ok so here goes Day 2!! Today is my curly hair day :) Day 2 is usually my favorite day. My hair just seems to cooperate more once its had some product in it for a day. I used all Redken Products for my hair today and Conair curling iron. Here is what my Day 2 hair looks like:

This is the end of the day. I completely forgot to take a pic this morning. But its still lookin good:)

The 1st product I spray on my hair was Redken's Spray Starch.

I never curl my hair with out this stuff!! It works so good. It is a heat activated styler. So I spray this on my hair before I curling each piece and I protects my hair from the heat and helps shape and hold the curl.

Next I curled my hair with the Conair 1" curling iron.

Then as I slid each curl off the barrel I clipped it in place with a duck bill clip like this one.

You can find these clips at Sally's Beauty Supply. I let the curls sit and cool for about 15 mins. The longer you give them to curl the better they will hold their shape well you let them down.

At the end of 15 mins I spray them with Redken's Light hold finishing spray.

Then I take all the clips out of my hair. I run my fingers through the curls to help them relax and fall into the place I want them. Then I finish my style by Spraying Redken's Maximum hold finishing Spray.

Ok thanks for reading!!! Hope you are enjoying this series. Leave a comment below if you have any questions for me!

My Current Mascara

Hey Everyone!! I wanted to share the latest mascara that I have been using. I try to switch it up so I can find a few that I really like. This is my go to Mascara right now though.

It's called Falsies Volum' Express Flared (I know volume is spelled wrong but that's how it is on the package lol) It's by Maybelline New York.

Here is the applicator wand. It has a nice little curve to it. Its $4.99 at Target right now. I just googled that to find out exactly how much it is there and I happened to come across a printable coupon for $2 off!! Score!

So what I love about this wand is (I know its a little blurry in the pic) but there is a little break part way up the wand that allows the wand to flex. So its a little bouncy when you use it. I love that because the wand can bend and move with your lashes a little bit so it goes on more gently and can color and really stick to your lashes all the way to the end. I can layer and layer it and It give TONS of volume and length. That all we asked for out of a good mascara;) It was a great concept that they came up with and I personally think it really paid off. So Highly recommend you try it out. Now there is even a bonus a $2 off coupon!!

Watch for a Demo video of the application coming soon so you can really see how well it works.

Don't Forget! Subscribe!! :)

How to Go 3 Days With out Washing Your Hair!

Yes you can do it and I will be right here to help you do it! I know how much all you gals HATE washing and blow drying your hair so I'm going to show you how to put it off for a few days while still looking presentable ;)

I will be posting videos and pics of the products and tools I use telling you about each product and tool as I go. Now I will be doing this in real time so I will be posting one video each day  along with pics so you can see what my hair is looking like as the days go by.

Here we go!! If you have any question please leave a comment here or on my YouTube channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/BeautyByMrsEwens87?feature=mhee

OK so first of all here is my hair on Day 1

Today I just flat ironed my hair. It was a rainy today so excuse the frizzies :) (is that even a word? well it is now:) I used three products and a flat iron and blow dryer to achieve this look. One by Redken and two by Pureology.

The first product I put in my towel dried hair is the Pure Volume Thickening Mist by Pureology.

I really focus on my roots with this spray. Its very light weight and smells lovely!

The second Product I used was the Pureology SuperSmooth Cream.

I put about a nickle sized amount in my hair all over. This really helps with my frizzies :)

Then I spray this third product all over my hair right before I blow dry. Its call Iron Silk 07 by Redken.

This is a thermal protector. So I spray this on before I blow dry to protect my hair from the blow dryer heat.

Next I blow dry my hair. Sometimes I use a round brush and sometimes I use a paddle brush. This particular time I used a paddle brush. When my hair is completely dry then I flat iron it. I use a Babyliss Nano Titanium 1" flat iron. It heats up in under 60 seconds and it goes to 450 degrees. Love it!! I am sure to spray each layer of my hair with my Iron Silk spray to make sure I don't burn my hair.

So that's it for Day 1. If you would like to watch my video on my Day 1 hair please click on the link below. Don't forget to subscribe to my blog and my YouTube channel so you don't miss a thing!!

Welcome to My Blog!!

Hey Everyone!! I'm so so excited to get things started! I already have a million ideas that I can hardly wait to get out there for you to see. I plan on covering a wide range of beauty related topics on here. Anything from awesome new workout techniques to the most kick ass beauty tricks.

Here is a little background info so you know where I'm coming from. I was raised in a small town on a little ranch with lots of animals! I swear we got a new animal like every weekend! I was such a tomboy growing up and loved playing in the dirt, dressing like a boy and playing all boy sports so it's pretty funny that I do what I do now.I am now a mother of two very handsome young men and the wife of the most gorgeous and loving man on the planet (I'm a little biased he he;) OK anyways enough with the mushy stuff. I hope you enjoy the info I have to share and maybe even learn a little while you are visiting my blog.
